We are the friends that you have not yet met.

Your enquiry will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.  If you do decide to come to a meeting, you will be met by a member who will have an introductory chat with you. They will also accompany you to your first group meeting, so you will not feel alone and anxious.

Please remember we have all taken these first tentative steps to a group meeting, And for all of us it has been truly liberating to be amongst people who genuinely understand.

We have been established since 1992 and our aims are to:

  • Provide support for anxiety and depression sufferers And their families in the community.
  • Provide an early self help alternative to the use of Mental health services in the community.
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of anxiety and depression sufferers following professional care.
  • Promote a better understanding of mental health.
  • Reduce the stigma associated with mental health.

 Our Self Help Group will
help you to:

  • Remove the feelings of isolation.

  • Find the beat ways to deal with your problems.

  • Cope better with symptoms.

  • Teach you to breathe properly.

  • Teach you how to relax.

  • Provide a better qualify of life.

  • Rebuild your confidence.

  • Regain your self-esteem Talk about, and face your problems.

  • Eventually enable you to support others, If you wish to do so.

 

NEW GROUPS OPENING IN YOUR AREA

We meet at Mayer Hall in Bebington Village and New Brighton Community Centre. We are actively working to open groups in other areas on the Wirral so we will be more easily accessible to allow more people to attend meetings closer to home.

If you feel that the present venues are not suitable for you, please do not hesitate to get in Touch with us so that we can take into account your own situation when deciding on new locations. All our work is carried out on a voluntary basis.
